A South Eurasian species, the Cormorant breeds on bodies of water rich in
fish with clean slow-moving water, dense growths of hydrophytes, and trees and shrubs on
the banks. The breeding areas nearest to the Krasnoyarsk Territory are in western Tuva
near the border to the Gorno-Altai region (Irisov 1972). In Central Siberia it is a
vagrant with two records, both discovered by B.P. Zavatsky on the lower reaches of the Us
River in the Sayano-Shushensky Reserve in 1979 and 1981. Bibliography. |
