This species, included in the Red Data Books of both the ex-USSR and the
RF, is a very rare vagrant to Central Siberia. The nearest breeding areas, shallow lakes
and river deltas overgrown with rank riverside vegetation, are located in Kazakhstan and
Mongolia. The one vagrant found in Central Siberia was recorded in Evenkia (64°10' N) in
1945. It was a young bird in second summer plumage and was collected 8 km from Tura
(Andreev 1974). Bibliography. |
